Nema-17 Stepper Motor 4Kg (Type 17PU-H502-G6VS)
Adding product to your cart
Motors and actuators are the integral part of any automation and control application. By using different kind of motors we control our position of the controlled object. The different types of motors are BLDC, Servo, Stepper, PMDC, Synchronous DC, in which we use Servo and Stepper motors for precise angular control and position control in applications like robotics, CNC Machines, Automated processes, 3D printers etc. Servo motors are used in 180° Control applications and Stepper Motor is used when you need low speed but multiple rotations but in steps i.e. there are a specific number of steps in a revolution so you can control the final position of the motor by exciting the particular phase wires. The motor has 6 lead wires and rated voltage is 12V. It can be operated at lower voltage but torque will drop. These motors have a step angle of 1.8 deg., this means that it has 200 steps per revolution for every step it will cover a 1.8° hence the level of control is also high.

The motor is not as accurate as mentioned by the supplier, the supplier mentions 200 steps for a complete revolution, i bought 2 motors and was getting some errors while using them by considering them to complete a full 200 steps for a single revolution. For reference, i was using the DRV8825 stepper motor drivers with the ms1 and ms2 options enabled(i.e 1/8th stepping enabled) which should give me 1600 steps for a full revolution, but after testing it came up to about 768 steps per revolution, not even a full 800 steps, which was very confusing and very weird. But atleast its consistently weird, i.e it was covering a full 768 steps EVERY TIME, so its still works like a stepper motor atleast. in fact the fourth star is just for this weird consistency, furthermore, after running it for half an hour, it got very hot so i would say that its not meant for 3D printers and the cnc projects which work for long hours. overall, for the mentioned price its fine.

Sir the product doesn't contain cable to connect with stepper motor and it has taken a lot of time to ship
